Nutrition plays a meaningful role in both physical and mental health, and yet most healthcare teams receive limited training in practical nutrition strategies. That gap shows up in patient care every day.
I work with healthcare professionals and organizations who want to strengthen the role of nutrition in their practice. My background is in behavioral health settings — inpatient, residential, and outpatient — and my focus is on guidance that’s actually usable in clinical contexts, not just theoretically sound.
Nutrition Consultation for Healthcare Professionals
Sometimes a case raises nutrition questions that fall outside your primary area of expertise. I offer 30- and 60-minute consultation sessions for providers who want to think through a complex case, explore food-medication interactions, or consider how nutrition may be contributing to a patient’s symptoms.
These sessions are designed to support your clinical decision-making, not replace comprehensive nutrition care. In many cases, patients will still benefit from working directly with a dietitian for individualized medical nutrition therapy — and I’m happy to discuss what that handoff might look like.
Staff Education and Training
A well-informed team responds better to patient questions and is less likely to be caught flat-footed by whatever nutrition trend is circulating on social media this month.
I offer educational sessions for healthcare teams on topics including nutrition and mental health, blood sugar and mood stability, nutrition considerations for anxiety, depression, and ADHD, and how to evaluate the nutrition information your patients are bringing in from outside sources.
Sessions are evidence-based, practically focused, and can be customized for your organization and delivered virtually.
Process Evaluation and Program Development
If your practice or organization wants to better incorporate nutrition into patient care but isn’t sure where to start, I can help you assess current workflows, identify gaps, and develop more consistent, patient-centered approaches to nutrition support.
This isn’t about overhauling everything at once. It’s about finding realistic opportunities to improve outcomes with what you already have.
Speaking Engagements
I’m available for conferences, professional trainings, and educational events. Topics I present on include nutrition and mental health, trauma-informed approaches to nutrition counseling, evaluating nutrition information in clinical practice, and practical nutrition strategies for behavioral health settings.
Presentations can be adapted for dietitians, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
